Miniature Mondays: Devout, Protectorate Light Warjack

Devout, Protectorate Light Warjack

The other model I primed for NeoCon was the Devout. I didn’t finish Malekus during NeoCon so the Devout is on deck. After I finish Malekus, I’ll get started on the Devout. The left arm has broken off a few times but it should hold up.

Miniature Mondays: Malekus, the Burning Truth

Malekus, the Burning Truth

During NeoCon, we decided to have a painting demo for people looking at our display. I primed a Devout and Malekus and decided to paint the latter. I did most of the painting over the two days but I have to finish the rest of the details.

Miniature Mondays: Blood of Martyrs (Finished)

Blood of Martyrs (Finished)

I finally finished the Blood of Martyrs after weeks of sitting on the table. I also played him in a game yesterday with his warcaster Thyra. I had fun painting this model and tried some new blending techniques. I tried to do some two brush blending on the shoulders but it didn’t come out as smooth as I wanted it. It’s a great start though and my technique will get better with more practice.

This model was also a lesson in purchasing miniatures second hand. The sword was broken at the tip and I couldn’t fix it. Also, half of the left fist was cut off, presumably to fit the sword. The next time I purchase a model, I’ll be sure to look at all the pictures first. Let me know what you think in the comments below and thanks for stopping by.

Miniature Mondays: The Blood of Martyrs

The Blood of Martyrs

During MKII, I wanted to run a fun Thyra list but didn’t have any of the models. I was playing a lot of Kreoss1 and Severius1 lists which had mostly Zealots and Exemplars. I finally found this model for a great price on Ebay. It was a used model that had been primed white but after a bath in some purple stuff, it’s as good as new. The tassels on the blades have broken off and I’m probably not going to replace it. The back fabric panels were not attached, I like the way it looks without it. One of the blades is also chipped on the tip but hopefully I can make it look like battle damage.

Miniature Mondays: I’m Doing Some Hobby Stuff, I Swear!

I’m Doing Some Hobby Stuff, I Swear!

I finally finished painting Testament of Menoth but I’ve been working on some other stuff too. I finished assembling Thyra (not pictured), Blood of Martyrs, the Deliverers Sunburst Crew and Malekus. I need to get them primed so I can finally put on some paint. Need to paint my unit of Daughters as well in order to run a Thyra list.

Miniature Mondays: The Testament of Menoth

The Testament of Menoth

The first miniature on the painting table will be the Testament of Menoth. I have had this miniature for a while and decided to make it my first miniature of the new year. It came assembled and since it’s the “epic” version of High Reclaimer, I do not need to make a base. Hopefully I can get this done within a week. Check out the photos below.

Miniature Mondays: Reznik2 and Durst

Finally Finished

After months of procrastination and loss of interest in painting, I finished my two Protectorate Warcasters that have been sitting on my table. I found some painting inspiration and they were completed in no time. Reznik2 was a pain but worth it. He looks great on the battle field and hopefully I build a better list for him in MK3. So far, I’m 0-2 but I know I can play him better.

I also finished Durst. I should have finished him a lot sooner but I dropped him and he came apart. I was bummed about it but I dropped him in some cleaner and assembled him. My clumsiness might have been a blessing in disguise however because I pinned him in more places. Hopefully he’s more durable. I haven’t played him in any lists yet but I’m sure I can find something great.

I’m not sure what’s next for the painting table. I have a Devout and Testament assembled but I need to prime them. I really want to put Thyra and unit of Daughters together as well. I also have some Guild Ball models to paint! So many models, so little time. Let me know what you think about the models. Leave a comment at the bottom. Thanks for reading!

Miniature Mondays: Reznik 2 Update

Sorry This Took So Long

After taking months off of painting this miniature I finally got some inspiration to finish it. With the release of Warmachine “MK3” I want to finish as many miniatures as possible. I’ve finished the horses, the wheels and a wrack. Need to do some touch ups on the horses but that shouldn’t be difficult. Need to start painting the chariot, and finish the base, the other wrack and flags. I should have this done in a month or so.

Wargame Wednesdays: Warmachine Battle Report, Severius1 vs Denegrah1

Below is a video battle report of Severius1 vs Denegrah1. Denegrah came away with the win, but it was a great game to learn from. It was also my first time playing against Nyss hunters. I will not make the same mistakes again, at least I hope I don’t. Hope you enjoy the video. If you have any comments or questions leave them at the bottom.

Wargame Wednesdays: Warmachine Team Battle Report

Hello Wargamers! The video below is from a 50 point Warmachine game. The scenario was Close Quarters from Steam Roller 2015. The teams were composed of two 25 point armies, Mercenaries/Protectorate of Menoth and Convergence of Cyriss/Cryx. The humans vs the soulless! The teams were split based on experience. Rodel and I were the veterans and the new guys Roland and Ronald were the new players. The newer players took a bit longer than the vets but that is expected since they’re still learning the game.

We had a lot of fun especially since we were playing with two casters. Coming up with cool combos was exciting and a made the game more casual than competitive. I hope we get to play another team game soon, I had a blast. If you can’t see the video below, head to (http://youtu.be/w2be2a9jDPU).
